Privacy Policy

This is a one-person web design business in Santa Barbara. We collect as little as possible, we do not sell anything to anyone, and you can have it all deleted by asking.
What we collect
Only what you type into the contact form, and only when you submit it:
- Your name and business name
- Your email address
- Your phone number, if you choose to give one. It is optional.
- Your website address
- Whatever you write in the message box
The site diagnostic tool on the homepage runs entirely in your browser. If you type a domain into it and do not submit the form, that domain is never sent to us and never stored anywhere.
What we do with it
We use it to prepare your free audit and to reply to you. That is the whole purpose.
- We do not sell, rent or trade your details.
- We do not add you to a mailing list. If we ever start one, you will have to ask to join it.
- We do not share your details with third parties for their own marketing.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no cookies and runs no advertising or analytics trackers. There is no Facebook pixel, no Google Analytics, no session recording, and nothing following you to other websites. That is why you were not shown a cookie banner: there is nothing to consent to.
The page loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google's servers see your IP address when the fonts are requested, as they would for any site using them.
Where it is kept
Form submissions arrive as email and are stored in that email account. If the form is connected to a form-handling service, a copy also sits with that provider. Nothing is kept in a separate database or a customer relationship system.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not turn into work are deleted within 12 months. If you become a client, we keep project correspondence and invoices for 7 years, because tax rules require it.
Your rights
If you are in California, the CCPA gives you the right to know what we hold about you, to have it deleted, and to not be discriminated against for asking. If you are in the UK or EU, the UK GDPR and GDPR give you similar rights plus the right to correct errors and to receive a copy of your data.
To exercise any of these, email santabarbarawebsitebuilder@gmail.com. We will action it within 30 days. You do not need to explain why, and there is no charge.
Children
This is a service for businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. We will not quietly broaden what we collect and backdate it.

Note for the site owner: add a real physical mailing address above before publishing. CCPA and CAN-SPAM both expect a contactable address, and cold email legally requires one. Delete this note once it is in.
